Empowering Gender Balance in AI: Insights from Our Webinar

Our first AI4VET4AI project webinar was held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. organized by the Association for Women’s Potential Affirmation and Networking (AFA), one of our project partners.

In this enlightening session, Prof. Dr. Mirjana Ivanović delved into the topic of “Artificial Intelligence – Gender Equality and Ethical Aspects,” stressing the crucial need for the full integration of women in AI to drive societal progress. With only 22% of researchers in AI being women, it’s imperative to cultivate a more inclusive environment within the field. Our webinar underscored the significance of personal development and collaboration between genders to ensure that AI benefits everyone.

Through interactive discussions and a dynamic Q&A session, participants actively contributed their insights and ideas towards fostering gender balance in AI. By uniting experts, stakeholders, and enthusiasts, we strive to catalyse meaningful change in the AI landscape.

But the dialogue doesn’t conclude with the webinar; it serves as a springboard for continued discourse and action. Whether you’re a researcher, industry professional, or advocate, your voice and contributions play a pivotal role in driving positive change.

Prof. Dr. Mirjana Ivanović stands as a beacon in the realm of computer science, championing various initiatives to advance AI research and development. Her expertise and commitment to promoting gender equality in AI position her as a leading voice in this vital discourse.
