AI4VET4AI National Dissemination Event in Belgrade

The National dissemination event of the AI4VET4AI project was successfully held at the Palace of Science in Belgrade on 16 January 2025, gathering experts, educators, and industry leaders to explore the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in vocational education and training (VET).

The event was opened by Leo Mršić, from Algebra University, and Miloš Erić, Institutional Coordinator from FEFA – Belgrade Metropolitan University, who welcomed participants and introduced the objectives and scope of the AI4VET4AI project.

The day continued with a high-level panel discussion on the role of AI in business. Speakers included Stevan Vrbaški, CEO and Founder of Vinaver Medical; Zafiris Lampadaridis, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Belgrade; and Ivana Stanković, Director at PwC. The panel, moderated by Miloš Erić, addressed the growing influence of AI across sectors and its implications for future skills and workforce development.

A second panel focused on the support ecosystem for teachers and schools. Vladimir Trkulja (UNICEF), Tanja Kuzman (Digital Serbia Initiative), and Nebojša Vasiljević (Petlja) shared insights on how institutions and initiatives are helping educators prepare for and adapt to technological change. The session was moderated by Srđan Verbić, Professor at FEFA.

The event concluded with a panel on AI education practices in Serbia, held in the Serbian language. Participants included Katarina Aleksić (Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation), Nikola Ćurčin (Electrotechnical School, Pančevo), and Milena Marić (IX Belgrade High School), moderated by Tijana Stefanović from Digital Serbia Initiative. The panel provided concrete examples from the classroom and emphasized the importance of teacher training and curriculum development in AI-related topics.

The dissemination event forms part of the broader AI4VET4AI project, aiming to strengthen AI competences and awareness in vocational education systems across Europe.
