In November 2024, Think Tank AlterContacts hosted two awareness-raising events in the Netherlands within Work Package 3 of the EU co-funded project AI4VET4AI.

The first one titled “AI-Powered Success: A Woman Entrepreneur’s Playbook” was a round table for women entrepreneurs in Amsterdam. It was facilitated by an award-winning entrepreneur and the co-founder of Think Tank AlterContacts, Julia K. Skupchenko. During this interactive session, participants had the chance to ask all kinds of questions on AI’s potential to streamline daily activities and support business growth.

They explored numerous ways AI can enhance their business, even if the core product or service was not tech-related. Guided by the expert, the group discussed several case studies from their peers. They exchanged ideas and opinions on AI-related risks, possibilities, and limitations of integrating AI into entrepreneurial practices. At the end of the event, the participants highlighted the importance of having such events and proposed to create an actual online playbook with AI tools, case studies, events and related information in the Netherlands.

The second event was a Masterclass on “Artificial Intelligence for Students” hosted at the Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Dronten, The Netherlands. In this session, guided by the AlterContacts expert, the students explored the current developments of Artificial intelligence in the context of education and its applications for university students. They learnt how AI could be used at school responsibly and discussed what challenges and opportunities it presents for their learning journey.

The session included practical exercises to enhance their understanding. After introducing the AI4VET4AI project, the key topics covered were AI use in schools; generative AI and its peculiarities; various types of AI; and Generative AI detection. In the second part of the Masterclass, the expert presented the AI Competency Framework for students by UNESCO. The session was completed with an exploration of new AI tools the students could use for creativity.

Given the high interest to the topic of the Artificial intelligence in both groups and to continue the engagement after the events, Think Tank AlterContacts launched a podcast series. The first episode is dedicated to the AI4VET4AI project, its goals and roadmap for the four years of implementation. Notably, the podcast was created with the assistance of the newest AI tools. It discusses the role of the AI in our society and the impact this project is expected to have on VET institutions and its graduates. Listen to it here:
